The Mystery in the Pirate Oak is a marvelous children's book that I have kept and read and reread many many times over the past 30+ years. It is a book about right and wrong and about how you should or should not treat your neighbors. It is a mystery by an artist Helen Orton who has written several other mysteries that rate high on the chart with myself and my children. I kept the book from my childhood purchase from Scholastic Books so that I could someday read it to my children. My boys are now ages 15 and 24 and did enjoy the book almost as much as I. I highly recommend it to any person that is in a nostalgic mood or just in a mood for light reading. It is entertaining for all.
