Mysteries of the Kingdom -- by Bruce E. Dana

This is one of the most interesting books I've read addressing deep doctrinal subjects for Latter-Day Saints ("Mormons"). The author quotes many prominent leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on such subjects as "Is our Savior Married?", "Age of the Earth", "Age of the Universe", "Relationship of Mary and the Father", "Urim and Thummim and Seer Stone". Other chapters speak of the modus operandus by which Adam and Eve were created by God, and the potential and eternal nature of man. I was particularly fascinated by the chapter titled "Hidden Treasures, and Stories of Porter Rockwell and the Hill Cumorah." The author carefully avoids promulgating any theories of his own, but instead relies upon what has already been elucidated by well-respected authorities within the early and current LDS Church. Much of the quoted material has not been exactly "at the finger tips" of a typical well-read Mormon. To remedy this situation, this book manages to round up and deliver some really choice and often surprising responses to "deep thinker" questions which a well-indoctrinated Mormon might ask.
