No doubt, this DVD was produced as a quickie, and the picture quality is not good. Still, the 3 films hold a certain amount of interest. "The Evil Mind" (1934, Claude Rains, Fay Wray) is an early display of Mr. Rains' future brilliance. Originally released as "The Clairvoyant", it's hard to decide why this was included with the other two. It's certainly the main curiosity on the DVD. "Horror Express" has been out for a while, and the clever premise, along with another pairing of the great Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing, with reasonable production values, make this an entertaining outing. The third, "Someone Behind the Door", a "Spaghetti" mystery, is not so mysterious, and the weakest of the three. Not a lot of guesswork here, though it's great to see Anthony Perkins, Charles Bronson & Jill Ireland. There's a sort of premonition here, since the main theme is Dvorak's New World Symphony, which was also used in what is perhaps Perkins'finest performance, in "Crimes of Passion". The film, though, is largely a bore. Not bad for the good price.
