Fashion Frenzy

When I got this book in, I could hardly wait to open it and experience what "My Wonderful World of Fashion" is all about! It's marketed as 'A Book for Drawing, Creating and Dreaming' and I couldn't agree more! My Wonderful World of Fashion is geared mainly towards tween girls with a fascination for fashion and all things that are 'in'. If you know a certain special someone with an over-active imagination, loves to draw, is into fashion or just likes to put her thoughts on paper, this is your answer! I couldn't believe how quickly the time went by just as I flipped through it. If I actually did all of the activities, I would've been busy for hours! I certainly wouldn't call it a coloring book, but you CAN color in it. It also asks for you to write down thoughts, gives fun fashion facts and keeps tweens up-to-date with what's going on in the fashion world. There are countless creative ideas in this book! The cover itself is stunning and I'd also like to note that it's NOT just B & W there is a section in the middle full of color pages that can be used as patterns for stockings, gloves, etc. As an avid reader, I love books in general, but add shoes, fashion, and a way to make it 'my own' and there's nothing better! This would make the PERFECT Holiday Gift! If you're on the fence about this purchase, I hope my review has given you that extra little push you needed to make the purchase! You won't regret it and (if you're not buying it for you) neither will the person receiving it!

Geared For Ages 9 to 12

My review comes from the insight of being the mother of a 12 year old girl, the upper end I recommend for this book. The pages are not numbered but it is a thick book at 1 1/4" The paper is thick newspaper quality like white construction paper making it very user friendly. It is not all glossy and perfection so you feel like it is very OK to color, cut and glue the pages, and that's just what it's for. Everything is black and white with the exception of about 12 pages of hot pink patterns so you do the coloring for the shoes, or the fingernail design or dress patterns or the hats. There are also a lot of pages where you are asked to design your own hat, or set of fingernail designs or jacket trimming. It's full of ideas to help you get started with the design process. The pictures of the various items, shoes, hats, legs for tights etc. are all very simply hand drawn. This book would be appropriate for children 9 years old to 12 years old. Beyond that, I think they would find it simplistic and trite. If you have someone 9- 12 years old who loves to work with patterns and colors this allows them all the fun without reinventing the wheel.

Charming gift for DIY fashion designers

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting in a coloring book but this was a lot better than whatever I was expecting. It's huge, nice heavy pages with absolutely charming hand drawn illustrations. The projects are simple and doable by kids 5 and up with some supervision and it's only the most basic explanations. How to tie dye, how to make a safety pin charm bracelet or a button necklace, things like that. What I loved about this book was pretty patterns to color in, the things left blank for people to draw their own things in. The examples of fashion and cheerful invitations to draw your own version. There are examples of henna and blank hands, examples of very intricately designed fake nails and pages of nails to draw your own on. There are heads without hats and hats without heads. It's a lot of fun, and a great book for diy-ers. It's a lovely coloring book and a great spark to creativity for girls of any age. If you are really into diy fashion and want a book for how to design clothes that's not at all scary or fussy, I recommend The Illustrated Hassle-Free Make Your Own Clothes Book.

Fun fashion drawings of shoes, dresses, hats, purses, International dresses, hair styles to complete. Displayed in a coloring book format , it is anything but a plain coloring book A drawing board of creativity, fun for all those who aspire to design and created to ativity books for the creative juices. The book is large and the paper is a strong weight to accept inks, drawing pens, watercolors, pants and glue.There are several 3d pages to find and put together. Fun for all ages, I wish I would have had this book years ago, Although, I still found loads of fun on each and every page. This would be a wonderful gift for your little diva, Not only for hours of drawing, creating, coloring, there are fun facts scattered through out the pages. I loved this book, I consider this a large doodle book, I am surprised when I look back on a finished page to see what I was creating in my subconcious.

Excellent for a Creative Young Girl!

"My Wonderful World of Fashion: A Book for Drawing, Creating and Dreaming," is a great gift idea for a young creative girl. Actually, girls of any age will enjoying this wonderful, large book that is like an art journal, coloring book, fashion creation book with fashion facts from around the world and lots of fun things to color and make. There are ideas galore in this book. My daughter and I ooooh'd and aw'd while we looked at page after page of great things to color and create. This is an amazing collection of nail art, purses to design, hats and shoes to color and draw. There are dresses to design, hair styles to create, necklaces and earrings to create and color, and many more wonderful ideas. This book is bound in a sturdy, large format. I noticed that with markers if you push hard while coloring with them, they did slightly bleed through to the other side, but light marker coloring, crayons, colored pencils and other media work very well with the paper weight. The book is filled with fashion ideas, shoes, and fashions from around the world as well as designer ideas to color and dream about. My ten year old daughter is a perpetual artist/notebook carrier and this book really fits the bill as far as kids who love to color and draw are concerned. It is a very lively and fun book to carry around and color and create. It also gives ideas on how to make things like Tye Dye and button necklaces to spurn creativity beyond the book. It has a stitch list and examples of stitches to take your creating and artistry further. This is simply a wonderful art book for girls. We adore it. During the winter months this will fill up many hours of coloring and creating. This book is not skimpy either, it's a huge fat book that will keep fashionistas busy for a very long, long time.
