My Wild Highland Love!

Let me introduce myself, My name is Fiona MacNeil and I was born to Scottish parents in a small town in Maine. My family was not really poor, but they were not rich either We lived comfortably, but unfortunately for me, I was an only child My mother had a bad time delivering me and back when I was born there wasn't anything they could do, like they might be able to do in today's world. That being said, her situation left me unable to have siblings. They never wanted to adopt, so instead I got a dog and named him Prince Thorne He was beautiful and loved me unconditionally. I named him Prince Thorne because as a little girl that was all I could think about when I grew up, was finding a prince, getting married and living in a big, beautiful castle.

As a child I was very curious about my Scottish ancestry and it almost became an obsession with me, to find out where I originally came from and where I fit into the cycle of life. I spent a lot of time in the library reading up on Scotland, its history and its legends, but back then it was hard to find out anything concrete. Then when I was older and became more educated I bought a computer and on it I could find things that I never could in any library

One day while searching different websites about Scotland and ancestry, I stumbled upon a website that allowed me to trace back in my family heritage, to see who I was related to, where I came from and if I had any ancestors that were still living
When I was about to graduate from College, I decided it was time to start doing more searching. I found some very interesting information, but nothing concrete about my ancestors, so I stopped looking until sometime in the distant future. I had other things to think about at that time, like Law School, which I knew would be grueling and that was my priority in that moment.

I was determined to become a lawyer and nothing, not even my curiosity about my ancestry, was going to hold up that dream. I studied hard and graduated third in my class of four hundred and eighty nine students. After graduation I took the bar exam and after passing, joined a local law firm. It was good for a time but the office dynamics and all the cut throat pettiness finally got to me.
My ancestry search became a ritual every day and the more I searched the more information I found. I was so excited and then one day it happened. I found another link and it took me back several centuries and there it was The information I so desperately searched for I found out I belonged to the Clan MacNeil, and they lived in a small Village called Roslin, not far from Edinburgh, Scotland. Of course it wasn't the Edinburgh that exists today, but now at least I know where my ancestors originated from I had a family in that clan whose leader was Gavin MacNeil, his wife Edin, who bore him four children, three boys named Duff, Cuddy and Brice and then a little while later a little girl they named Fiona.
That was as far back as I could find information but at least my search had produced enough information to satisfy my curiosity for the time being. One day I made a promise to myself that someday I was going to go to Scotlland, the land of my ancestors and find that place where they had once been part of. That is a promise I mean to keep.
