Having been a diabetic all my life, I faced my greatest challenge in 2007 at the age of 39 when I suffered a heart attack and quadruple bypass directly related to complications from the disease. The poems within this book are a chronicle of the emotions and struggles that I've faced ever since that day. Many of the poems are preceded by comments that were written on the day the poem was completed. My hopes are that this will give the reader better insight into my emotions at the time. "If you like poetry Ken Connally's book, The Walk, is a must have. I've been a fan of Ken's writing for years and have awaited the release of a book of his poetry with anticipation. His work is unique. He brings such feeling into every line. You will not be disappointed." - Samantha Fury- President Christian Indie Authors Network "Ken's journey in this book presents us with a glance of the places he has been and is brought to us 'warts and all' (a Cromwellian phrase seemed apt ). We glimpse his demons, his angels and the courage, faith and yes even doubts that have brought him thus far. He brings them to us in a way that doesn't show us a life but invites us to share it. - Keith Wallis, Poet"
