My Walk with Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ came to me at a time of much distress. He is forever my best friend and first love. I love him with all my heart. The picture on the front cover is me when I was about four years old. My mum tells me I used to pray when I was little. She would find me on the sofa praying, in my bed praying, and in this picture, I am praying in front of a Christmas tree. Praying was not something I grew up with, and I did not go to kindergarten, so it must have been something I still remembered when I was little. These past 12 years of my life have stirred something inside me and helped me to recall the power of prayer. What a journey it's been. More than once, I was convinced my life was over. I felt embarrassed by the way my life had fallen apart. I am not embarrassed anymore, and I am still here. This little girl is growing up, and I am praying for a different world where we do not kill each other and do not go to war against each other. I am praying for a world where we protect the sacred life on Mother Earth, where our children are safe, and where we take care of our elderly, the sick and the vulnerable. Today I understand that deep down I pray for myself because I am all that.
