My Walk With Jerry

I'm sure Jerry didn't know what a wonderful act of kindness he gave me when he made a simple request. He asked for someone to send him a Bible verse every day or so. When I heard this request I thought, I can at least send a verse every now and then.

At first I just copied a verse and sent it to Jerry. But then I realized as I was reading and researching those verses I was actually learning something Then I started texting the verses along with my own comments and realized what a difference it was making in my life.

I never met Jerry but I feel like we were friends. And I'm sure that I will never forget Jerry Gray as long as I live. By helping Jerry, it also helped me to grow and learn. I'm sure Jerry didn't mean this as an act of kindness but that's exactly what it turned out to be.

It's not always easy to know what to say or do when someone is going through a tough battle, but sending Jerry a Bible verse every day was the least I could do besides praying for him and his family.

I hope my texts helped Jerry to feel less alone and closer to God, I know it made me feel that way.

There is always hope, even in the darkest of times, and we can all make a difference in the lives of others, no matter how small.
