My voice is not the same as yours brings together 66 poems and two monologues, originally published online from the late 1990s onwards as part of Ju Gosling aka ju90's fine art practice. Now available in book form for the first time, the works are published under a Creative Commons licence, meaning that they can be performed freely by students and in other non-profit settings such as auditions and community performances.
Ju first came to international attention in 1997 with the publication of My Not-So-Secret Life as a Cyborg, a website that included the internet's first selfie series. In 1998 she was the first PhD candidate in the UK to submit her thesis, in Communication and Image Studies, as a multimedia website. Ju has since worked across the world as a digital and performance artist.
Ju is a co-founder and Artistic Director of Together 2012 CIC, leading the London 2012 Paralympic cultural Legacy in East London and online, and of Folk in Motion, a wheelchair folk dance company. She is also well-known as a Disability and LGBTQI+ rights activist, and is a long-term Co Chair of Regard, the UK's national LGBTQI+ Disabled People's Organisation. www.ju90.co.uk
