BEAUTIFUL PSALMS FOR CHILDREN

What a truly wonderful book! I am amazed at how nicely the author has interpreted biblical psalms for children. She has used subject matters that children can relate to: having a bad day, being scared, animal sounds, hiking, sports etc. Yet, each psalm stays true to its original biblical meaning. The illustrations are bright and beautiful, as well. This book is a wonderful way to introduce children to psalms, which can be "boring" or "long-winded" for children. It would be a great resource for teachers and also a great prayer book for families at home.

Donna Huisjen has captured the beauty of God's promises to us in her delightful book. In poetic language that is at times both touching and humorous, light and very meaningful, she has struck a very balanced chord for young and old readers alike. She adapts 30 poems from the book of Psalms with ease, making for an excellent book to read aloud to or with the children in your life. The illustrations are very colorful and attractive, and capture the delight of being a child in God's beautiful world.
