My Surprisingly Not-So-Simple Summer: The Rebecca Chronicles series, Book 2

By Dana Newcomb

Book Overview

When Rebecca Sherman completes sixth grade, she looks forward to a relaxing, fun summer. Instead, she stumbles into the break with her mom coaxing her to volunteer as a junior camp counselor for Ben, her younger brother. Can she survive the embarrassing ordeals she encounters, like finding herself being chased by a killer turd, and passing out in front of her crush?

And will her friendship with her BFF end when she rashly asks a new friend from camp to vacation with her family at the Outer Banks? Thank goodness her older brother, Griffin, invites his best friend, AJ, along. It's the one glimmer of hope in her world--until her family experiences a true test of faith through tremendous heartbreak.

When almost overwhelmed with loss, something unexpected happens to bring much-needed comfort to Becca and her family, and also helps her to alleviate anxiety about entering her next chapter... middle school
