My Story With Failure

Failure is inseparable from the life of every human being. When we get to know someone, they quickly relate their accomplishments as well as their past setback. It is important to note that failure, when we are confronted with it, almost always fills us with negative emotions. Dejection, discouragement, sadness, anger, despair, are usually the feelings we experience at that moment. Failure is always hard to take, especially when it is the first time. From this moment, we consider that everything is finished for us, we want to stay at the bottom of our bed, to cry all day, the tears of our body, to see nobody or on the contrary to shout our pain. For a few hours, we have to drink this bitter potion and let our tears flow. We let ourselves be carried away by the strong emotions that overwhelm us. Discouragement, anguish, and above all, the loss of self-confidence and self-criticism, take hold of us completely. Then appears a depreciating judgment such as "Anyway, I'm not good." The wound of our self-esteem is so strong that some people almost lose their self-esteem and even their will to live. They abdicate by saying, "I failed my exam. What agony!" The worst thing is that all my friends passed except me. I'd rather die than do another year! The other common reaction to failure is to flee. With this, devaluing judgments are born, such as "Anyway, these studies suck, I'm going to drop everything." The prospect of fleeing into distant travels, addictions, to forget, or, after a failure in love, to leave for sentimental adventures with repetition, often appears as the only alternative. The failure, at this moment is perceived as a mistake coupled with a feeling of defeat. These mistakes overwhelm us because we have played a part of ourselves. It is our very value that is questioned, it is our honor that is questioned, which overwhelms us. However, this defeat is also a founding experience that makes us more combative and wiser. Although feared, our defeats are precious opportunities to reveal our talents and resources and to appreciate the flavor of our existence. Our failures are moments of communion with our inner self, an opportunity to better hear our deepest desire, to make ourselves available for new paths, this time freer to progress. There is a correlation between failures from which we have learned and long-term success, social and human. When we have experienced trials, we become more empathetic, we appreciate our happiness better, we manage to smile
