My Sixth Sense

My Sixth Sense shares anecdotal stories derived from the author's personal experience that allow all children to look at disability and differences through a new lens. This book can be used as an educational tool to ignite discussions. It provides insight into the emotional roller coaster that is the psyche of a child with a disability, and further gives greater perspective to their non-disabled peers.

All of this is done through the use of the Sixth Sense called humor, with light rhymes. It explores ideas such as learning to laugh at yourself, differentiating little deals from big deals, and creating healthy self-concepts. The author's stories are different, in that encouragement and coping mechanisms are not necessarily things we learn or gain from those on the outside; rather, these coping strategies are something we already possess within ourselves.
