My Pensive: Reflections of My History

Just as the heat radiates from the Sun or a grain of sand makes ripples in a puddle of water, everything we do, each and every one of us has a lasting effect on other people in this world and on those who come after us. Our deeds are reflected in our legacy. It is important that the choices we make throughout our lives give the reflection that we would be proud to leave behind us. It is important to be very conscious of every decision we make. This is the story my mother told meof Grandpa Gay, Grandma Laura and Uncle Enoch. This story is a combination of information I have learned from a lifetime of geological research, gleaned by listening to the oral history from older members of my family, learned from researching historical records about people who lived near Central Missouri and filling in the gaps with possible, fictional scenarios to complete the narrative.
