By Malcolm Douglas

Book Overview

Meet the odd little folk who dwell in the nooks and corners of imagination-each more curious, each more delightful than the last. My Odd Little Folk: Rhymes and Verses About Them by Malcolm Douglas invites readers young and old on a whimsical journey through playful, rhyming verse, where nonsense and wit dance hand in hand. This enchanting childrens poetry collection brims with quirky folk characters and fanciful sketches, perfect for bedtime read aloud moments or sharing laughter across generations. Douglas's anthology sparkles with the spirit of Victorian era poetry, echoing the light-hearted nonsense verse of Edward Lear and the gentle, imaginative touch of Robert Louis Stevenson. Every poem is a window into a world where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the oddities of human nature are celebrated with warmth and humour. The collection's lively, family friendly poetry offers both a gentle introduction to 19th century British verse and a nostalgic return for seasoned lovers of classic literature. Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today-a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. Whether you seek playful imaginative rhymes for young listeners or a rhyming verse anthology rich in historical flavour, My Odd Little Folk stands as more than a curiosity: it is a cultural treasure, restored for new generations to cherish.
