My Neighbour: No man is an island, entire by itself.

"Carry each other's burdens; that is how to keep the law of Christ,"
Galatians 6:2.
St. Paul while writing to the Galatian church reminded them of the only way to keep God's law, which is by carrying each other's burden. This is consistent with the analogy of Romans 12:5 that all Human beings make up one body in Christ.
It is in this unity according to the Psalmist in Psalm 133:1, that the Lord commanded the blessing. When we strive to work together in spite of our differences, God "commands" His blessing to be upon our efforts. Satan knows this, so his chief strategy is to divide us so as to conquer us. He knows the power, synergy, and blessing that results from working in harmony, therefore he makes every effort to bring division, to make us despise one another and engender an unhealthy competition amongst us that does no one any good.
Each day, we are inundated with news of gruesome happenings across the globe. No continent, country, region or state is left out. Murder, Assassination, suicide, genocide, terrorism and their likes are recurrent decimals in the world today. In Africa and other developing nations, ritualists, Cultist, Kidnappers, Herdsmen, 'Boko Haram' and 'Yahoo Yahoo boys', have added another dimension to spate of killings. No day passes without news of how dastardly these 'men' have become, though made in God's image have suddenly become 'demons' and agents of destruction. They are bloodthirsty, heartless, brutal and fearless. Their evil deeds make headlines and thus put fear in every one who treasures life.
All these belie the Christianity we claim to practise. In fact each suicide, shows how distant we have been with one another, it is a measure of the level of our selfishness, apathy and indifference.
We live in a broken world where everything calls us towards selfishness and despair. Sin steals our joy, our bodies break down, our plans falter, our dreams die, and our resolves weaken, our perspectives dims. If we must be God's children( Christians, Muslims, Buddists etc) in the true sense of the word, we must eschew barriers, allow the love of God to permeate us and transfuse us into our neighbour's keeper. We must "encourage one another daily, as long as it is called 'Today', so that none of us may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness" (Heb.3:13).
When encouragement is absent from the life of our people, people feel unloved, unimportant, useless and forgotten. It is only in this state that the devil tries to possess them and makes them instruments of terror and of death.
According to Psychologist Carl Jung, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed."
