Juan de Dios Rivera Mu oz was born on September 25, 1947, in the city of Concepcion, Chile. Juan was the first child of eighteen brothers and sisters, of which only ten would survive to adulthood. Since childhood, Juan de Dios Rivera began a difficult life. He was rejected from his early days by an alcoholic father and was subjected to constant physical and psychological abuse, which developed into a mental illness that haunted him the rest of his days. Throughout his life, Juan de Dios Rivera, the man that for many was considered a madman, achieved things that many only dream about. Juan had found a formula to appease his lifelong illness. The man that many thought was destined to live a life depending on others, over the years managed to prove otherwise. In search of a better future, Juan de Dios Rivera left his homeland, venturing to explore unknown lands, where he experienced love and disappointment. Juan de Dios Rivera was a man who despite living a simple life, but full of experiences and adventures, always kept in his heart a special affection for his country. My name is Juan is the true story of a man who fought throughout his life against countless sufferings and trials, but with great determination, always managed to overcome them. His life is an example that proves that anything in life is possible until you give up.
