My Mom Thy was raised in South Vietnam as a daughter of a General. As the Vietnam War turned in 1975, as a child, she had to leave her parents behind to live in a foreign country, empty-handed. Unfamiliar with the language, the mannerisms and the culture, she embraced her principles and worked as hard as she could to realize the dreams she had kept even after losing her country. She aspired to have a better life, better the lives of people she encountered, and raise a family having strong values and purpose.
