Great David Niven fun

A dysfunctional but seemingly wealthy family takes in a new butler of dubious background. In return, the butler saves the family in more ways than one. (This is a comedy) If this movie had tried to keep to the same script as the original from 1936, starring William Powell and Carole Lombard, it would not have worked. The basic storyline still works; however, Godfrey Smith harbors a different secret past. This time, Francesca (Eva Gabor) gets to be the bean spiller. You might remember Eva "Green Acres" (1965) June Allyson makes a good ditzy Irene Bullock.
