Not in condition it was stated to be in

I purchased used-like new and the book binding it all messed up, marks on inside of book, something sticky on pages making them stick together.

We love this book and want more of them!

We love this book! I love that some of the pictures 'spill' out of their little boxes, and I love that the pictures have solid brightly colored backgrounds. I think the pictures are of great quality, and find myself literally staring at the 'our world' pages. Our son, who is 14 months old, has never been able to sit still for even a couple of pages of a story... But I've seen my son recently taking the book, turning the pages and looking at the pictures... Yesterday, my son "got it!" and started kissing the pictures in the book of the orange kitty. Lauren is right about everything she said... and would kick butt as an editor! However, everyone is different, and the things that Lauren mentioned weren't high on my list of priorities for this book. I'm trying to get my son to associate words with things, and things in a book with things in the world around him... I am an average everyday Mom, and I loved this book! In fact, in the book there is a picture of two little kids reading a "my big animals" book that looks like it is exactly the same style of picture book by the same people, and I came online to see if I could order a copy of that one too... so I could go through more animal names and sounds with him... :) The cover feels like slightly padded cardboard, and that is fine for us.

LOVE IT!

My son LOVES this book. We have purchased it as gifts for several friends because he enjoys it so much. He has learned a LOT of words... he is only 2 and can recognize (and say) things like Emu, Hippopotamus, Macaw, Sunflower, Daffodil, Bending, Balancing, Forest, Desert, etc. - all because of this book. GREAT book, GREAT gift... 5 stars!

Wonderful book for my 9 month old

My 9 month old has loved this book since about 7 months old. She loves books anyway and if you ask her to find the clock and cat in this book, she can turn the pages and point to them on each page (Started this at about 8 months of age)!! I have it on video it's so great! We have cats so she understands that word and when she gets her diaper changed she looks at the clock on the wall to keep her busy, so she knows that word to. Pointing them out to her in the book made her recognize them and be able to find them on her own. I highly recommend this book for any age! It's never too early to start teaching them.

love it

My 18 month old daughter loves these books. We have two of them and she's so cute with them that I want to get her a bunch more. They have pictures of real life items, colors, shapes etc. The pictures are very vibrant, clear and straightforward. Some of the things make me wonder (guinea pig? why not hamster?) but overall they are great. She loves to sit with me and we point at different things and I tell her what they are, or ask her where X is and she will point it out to me. She has had at least one of these books since she was a baby, I got one for my shower, and she has always loved it.

What a great developmental tool!!! Hundreds of pictures to help develope language skills. Pictures of places, foods, toys, actions, and many more. I am the mother of a 3 1/2 year old son with autism and this book has been a blessing. He loves this book and can tell me what most of the pictures are! I highly recommend this book for all preschoolers!!!!!
