The autobiography of Elizabeth M. Nance, born in China in 1917, grew up in China and Portland, Oregon, was in a Japanese prison camp at Stanley, Hong Kong during WW II. She went to America after the war and learned the Chinese language then returned to preach the gospel in Kunming, China from 1948 to 1950. Back in the States she earned her teaching degrees and went on to teach in Portland schools and started North Portland Bible College.
