MY JOURNEY TO MURDER is an action filled story of how two very different men come to murder. It is also a tale of how the surviving daughter of a mafia don uses these two men to hold her organization together. There is sex, American Indian lore and the mystical. The story follows the transformation of Paul from a nonviolent merchant seaman to a man proud of his ability to injure others. He is between jobs and women, trying to stretch his savings long enough to write a book. In a neighborhood bar he meets an old drunk who relates disturbing vignettes of his life, and Paul listens with the idea his stories could be used in a book. A pool game turns violent and Paul surprises himself, and others in the bar, by putting down a big man. His fast action gains him praise and increased attention from the flirtatious barmaid. He is offered a job with a criminal group and becomes proud of newfound abilities, and with the help of the barmaid begins his slide toward cold-blooded murder. The scenes are vivid, the people real, and the motivations that propel them in their actions and relationships are the same that move us all. It builds to a fast paced surprise ending.
