My Imagination Lab: Girls is a fun book designed to inspire girls to be as creative and imaginative as they can playfully be It is something of an activity book which can be used at home or in a classroom. It has ten different sections, each of which begins with a poem. This book includes coloring pages, creative-writing exercises, and useful foreign-language phrases in Spanish, French and Chinese (it's totally up to readers and users which one or ones they may focus on). The Chinese section also includes writing practice, so that readers can learn how to write a few words in Chinese. First, they can trace over the light-grey script (with some online help for the stroke sequence) and then they can try to do it on their own in the remaining blank spaces. The colouring pages appear in threes - each illustration can be colored three different times so that young artists can experiment with color palettes and the color wheel (a diagram of which is included in the book). This project also has a really cool page where young Picasso potentials can come up with their own Caribbean-theme rainbow palette, and later they can play around with the colors they would like to use, in the blank color swatches that are provided. In this way, kids can start getting a really good idea of what colors work well together, and can minimize a lot of frustration when working on their coloring pages. This is just a super-cool book that kids (and teachers) are going to love
