Must read for the "give me" generation

I was looking for a book for my eleven year old son to read when I came across My Hundred Children. This book, about the trials of a Jewish woman and her struggle for her own survival and that of more than a hundred Jewish children, makes you look at the eveyday things around you in a whole new light. When was the last time you locked up the family's bread? The atrocities these children had to accept as daily life is in such stark contrast to our eveyday surroundings that there is no way to put the book down unmoved.

A HEART WARMING TRUE STORY OF BRAVERY AND COMPASSION

LEAN KUCHLER WAS A EDUCATOR WHO ESCAPED THE DEATH CAMPS AND AFTER THE WAR SHE WORKED WITH THE YOUNG CHILDREN WHO SURVIVED, SHE HAD SUCH COMPASSION FOR THESE YOUNG PEOPLE AND WORKED VERY HARD TO BRING THEM BACK TO A NORMAL LIFE. SHE WAS VERY BRAVE AND RISKED HER OWN LIFE IN POST WAR POLAND TO HELP THESE YOUTH. THE ARRIVAL IN ISRAEL OF ALL 100 IS THE CROWN OF THIS BOOK. I WAS PLEASED TO LEARN THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CAN TRULY GIVE FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS.
