Hildegarde Ford's "My Go to Bed Book" is a treasure, as are Mary Win's illustrations. This book hearkens to an earlier era, and I love its simplicity and style. Each illustration is a beauty, and it illustrates too a loving relationship between the mother in the story and the child. The fact this book was originally published so long ago is amazing, as children still enjoy it today.

The book is a classic and one you must have in your kid's book basket. It's one of those that take you back to a simpler time in life, yet you feel like you can capture a little bit of that as you read the book to your child. My kids love to get lost in the pictures as they imagine what is happening, which always leads to great questions like, "what is she doing?"
A simpler time.....
