My Girlfriend Only Exists When Nobody Is Looking

By Derek Moody

What if the person you fell in love with disappeared every time you looked away?

Nineteen-year-old college student Ethan never expected an argument over a convenience-store sandwich to change his life. Then he meets Mika, a mysterious girl with a sharp sense of humor, a talent for drawing, and one impossible problem.

Whenever someone stops paying attention to her, she disappears.

Photographs change. Conversations vanish from people's memories. Even the people who meet her forget she was ever there.

But Ethan remembers.

As their unlikely friendship blossoms into romance, Ethan becomes determined to understand the girl who seems to exist somewhere between reality and imagination. Their ordinary dates turn extraordinary, and every moment together becomes precious when neither knows whether the next goodbye will be permanent.

Then the mystery begins to unravel.

A neighborhood that shouldn't exist. Photographs that rewrite themselves. Strangers who remember different versions of the same girl. And a forgotten experiment that may explain why Mika keeps disappearing.

The closer Ethan comes to the truth, the more he realizes that saving the girl he loves might mean confronting something far more frightening than losing her.

Because sometimes the hardest part of loving someone isn't remembering them. It's accepting who they really are.

My Girlfriend Only Exists When Nobody Is Looking is a standalone supernatural romance filled with mystery, psychological suspense, unsettling discoveries, and a love story that challenges the boundaries of memory and reality.
