One of the most painful things a child can go through is the abandonment of their father. Often characterized as "daddy issues", this type of trauma can result in:

At least that's what happened to me. That is, until I realized the love and nurturing I desired from my biological father wasn't absent from my life at all, it simply came in a different form.
