My Gangsta Child: Behind Bars

When I first starting writing My Gangsta Child I was going to make it fictional, but friends and family read it, they suggested I should let it be known that this is based on a true story written with fictional characters.
The life I was going through at different times with my daughter is divided between four mothers of different stages in my life. The same is for the four daughters in My Gangsta Child, their struggle is my daughter's struggle with drugs, street life and so much more.
Approximately 60% of this story is about our journey and the other 40% is fictional.
These women go through so much in life, which made them stronger, but still find a bonding with each other. Pain from the past has found them but will heal them, also. Read the journey of recovery and having to face the demons of drug addiction and broken families.
The great thing is that my daughter is now clean and graduated from college with a business degree. She also wrote about herself in My Broken Pieces by Tasha Ashley. Also she is now working with prison ministry for women.
