This book was written based on real bullying events. The objective is to deconstruct the idea that Afro hair is not beautiful, and therefore it cannot be assumed with pride. Human beings have different characteristics regardless of their ethnicity, which is natural and normal. No one needs to be discriminated against for being or having different characteristics like hair for example. Acceptance is not just for those who have coily hair but also for those who don't, mainly because afro hair is identity and deserves to be respected, not just as something personal but as something personal and cultural.
