A Wonderful Introduction to Your Toddler's World

This is my 18-month old's favorite book. I had to order a second copy because she looks at it constantly! Although it is written in Spanish, I use it in English. I've yet to find another picture dictionary type book in English with such clear and colorful pictures. Objects are introduced in the context of a scene around the home such as the kitchen, backyard, a birthday party, getting dressed, etc. Each object is labeled in Spanish. My daughter loves to point to the familiar objects, and I believe that this book has helped her acquire a great deal of language more quickly than she would have acquired without it. She loves to look at all types of books, but she always comes back to this one. As I said, the pictures are clear and not at all overwhelming or crowded together. Furthermore, their relative sizes are presented correctly and realistically, unlike many of the other picture dictionaries I've seen, which show many pictures on the same page drawn to an incorrect scale.

Highly recommended for young learners of Spanish

This book is beautifully put together. It presents words children want and need to know in a context they can understand. The illustrations are clear, bright and interesting. Any child who is learning Spanish, whether as a first or second language, should have a copy of this book. It is a tremendous resource, and I feel fortunate to have it available in my elementary school classroom.
