An account of my life in Kenya from 1971 when I was born to when I left at the age of 19 for University in the UK and then to join the RAF. I have written this primarily to share with my children, nieces and nephews as well as for future generations of my family. It is a look back in time of my own experiences and the opportunities that I was lucky to be given. One of the highlights was the school expeditions that took us up Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya. Here we shared the ground with wild animals, we got lost, were found and rescued. This was all in the days before mobile phones and GPS. There were, over the years, family safaris in the various National Parks close to where we lived. Many of these safaris were with friends and included rock climbing, caving as well as enjoying the wild animals that lived there. Growing up where I did allowed me to enjoy many activities including riding, sailing as well as learning to fly before I could drive. I hope the readers of this book will embrace it for what it is. A moment in time of a real life adventure. A Christmas must for anybody interested in what life was like growing up in Kenya in the 70's. Fun, adventure and many exciting challenges!
