I wrote My child's got autism: Don't Panic because a lot of our early intervention team said I should. Because when you first hear those words, in the cold harsh room of the doctors office - you panic. You are swept into a black hole of loss and fear. But it doesn't need to be that way. Autism gave us an insight into our son that we may have missed without it. We worked really hard to get to know our son and then help him reach out to others.
