Yes, diversity frightens and only the courageous ones are ready to get to know it and accept it. The courageous explore it, add it into the (school) system and get to know it in its uniqueness. Few are such courageous people, that put their experiences into writing; and if they do it with a whole lot of empathy and motherly love like this author did, it is a real feat. And this book IS a feat as it reveals all the fears, straits, pain and also happiness and excitement of a mother of a special child. Uncomprehended and so many times excluded in her diversity. From the society, the surroundings, the play. From anything. There are so many similar (painful) stories around us, among us; however, we are not aware of them. We do not perceive them. We do not want to see them. After reading this book the world will become richer and the diversity suddenly so - close.
