My Broken Socks: Sonzi and her love for Ireland

The story of "My Broken Socks" is about a little Italian girl who traveled across Europe to Ireland to begin a new adventure. I wrote this children's book as I close a chapter in my life and look back at how far I've come. Some years ago I made the decision to trade my home in for a new one in a different country. When I left Italy to live in Ireland, I had to not only learn a new language but also had to adjust to a new culture and start a new life from scratch. Although it was difficult and it took some time, I found a loving home in Ireland with amazing friends. This book illustrates in a very simple manner the struggles I faced, and I am sure many other children did too, as a foreigner in a new land, and how good friendships can help to heal, to grow and be happy.
