My Broken Plan

Skylar "Sky" Meyers grew up around horses and is pretty comfortable around them. Because she is going into high school this fall where she will finally get to progress on her natural swimming talents, Sky's dad says she is old enough to break in the new horse by herself. All is going well until Blaze gets spooked by a mouse and throws her. Sky wakes up in a hospital room a couple days after the incident with no feeling below her waist. She is paralyzed. Sky had plans. Big plans. She was going to go to college on a swimming scholarship. She was going to go to the Olympics. In fact, her plans were so important, that she calls them her Plan with a capital 'P'. Now her Plan is broken. She will now have to work around her paralysis and learn to live this new life that was so suddenly thrown upon her with no warning, no time to prepare, no gentleness. Just the jarring, horrifying reality that Sky must live with from now on.
