Children will learn about consonants and vowels through fun and colorful writing and tracing activities. This workbook will show your child how to begin putting words together to make phrases, a crucial skill for sentence construction. Kumon workbooks are based on the "Kumon Method", an educational philosophy that aims at unlocking the full learning potential of each individual child. The Kumon Method introduces learning concepts in an incremental, step-by-step approach, allowing children to master new skills easily and without anxiety or frustration. As a result, children gain confidence in their abilities and are motivated to learn on their own.
Empowering Parents To Help Their Children Acquire Written Language Skills
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
If your child is having difficulty acquiring the skills of letter writing, this workbook provides a structured format that not only reinforces learning consonants and vowels, but includes external boundaries, in the form of boxes, for letter size and spacing. As a speech-language pathologist who works on literacy skills with children, I can say that this is a great resource for parents to help their children within the home environment.
Great for my 5 year old.
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
Writing Words was so inviting to my 5 year old daughter. She opened it up and knew right away what she was to do, despite the fact that she cannot read and is not that sure of the orientation of her letters. The pages make her curious and she loves to trace and to write the letters in the blocks. These Kumon books are very subtle that way - they are easy and natural without being tricky or cute like many other books. We also love the Mazes and Number Games books.
