My Book of Poetry is a collection of poems by an Iraq War Veteran. The author participated in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq as a Lance Corporal with the 1st Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps, and it changed his life. Surviving the war was one thing, dealing with the effects of the war was another. Paul Russell Parker III found solace in the therapeutic effects of writing. These poems reflect the feelings and emotions that someone who fought in a war could have after combat, and hopefully they can give people insight into the mindset of Veterans. Poems included are: Conflicted, Why I Did, Dying thoughts, Sun's Radiance, Plight, Who We Are, Never Changes, Winter's Forlorn Solace, Welcome Home, New, Warrior's Mantra, Deeper Meaning
