My Beauty from Ashes: Enduring the Fire, Becoming the Light

By Rhiannon Thoreson

What happens after the worst day of your life?

At nineteen, Rhiannon Thoreson was finally becoming the person she'd always hoped to be, but in a matter of moments, everything changed.

Abducted in broad daylight by a convicted violent offender, Rhiannon was thrust into a nightmare that shattered her sense of safety, identity, and trust. But surviving the attack was only the beginning. The years that followed became an even more difficult journey through fear, shame, unanswered questions, and the exhausting work of rebuilding a life that no longer resembled the one she had planned.

With remarkable honesty and unwavering courage, My Beauty from Ashes invites readers into the hidden realities of trauma-the invisible wounds, the complicated path toward healing, and the resilience that emerges when hope seems impossible to find. Rather than ending with survival, this memoir explores what it truly means to reclaim joy, forgiveness, faith, meaningful relationships, and the courage to live fully again.

Whether you are a survivor yourself, love someone who has experienced trauma, or simply want to better understand the strength of the human spirit, Rhiannon's story will challenge, inspire, and remind you that our deepest wounds do not have to define our future.

Powerful, compassionate, and ultimately hopeful, My Beauty from Ashes is more than one woman's story. It is a testament to the extraordinary resilience of the human heart-and a reminder that even after life's fiercest fires, beauty can still rise from the ashes.
