Muses: Poems to Celebrate and Empower Women

When I write a new poetry book, I often remind myself that it is not a love story. However, this book is a collection of love songs that do not necessarily depict romantic love. Instead, they portray the universal love that is essential for nurturing our connections with one another. Although these poems could be interpreted as romantic love ballads, they were not inspired by any romantic relationships. I love the women who inspired them, but not in a sexual way. My love for them is akin to my love for nature, life, and all the beautiful things in this world. I adore their authenticity, honesty, strength, and beauty. The muses of this book emerged first as a cry for women worldwide to unite and support one another. However, it ended with a smile as I realized that women are already supporting each other more than ever before. I hope that this book will contribute to this much-needed action of love, compassion, understanding, and collaboration.
