*A#1!!!-As a 14 year old kid delivering the NY Daily News, I've wanted to deep dive into this book due to my proficiency in Social Studies, History, et.al* *#2*I've FIRST previewed this book thru my father's Reader's Digest subscriptions in early 1981* *#3*With SO MUCH urban street crime so prevalent in ALL MAJOR U.S. CITIES during the 70'$-90'$, I've ALWAYS had a fascination for THIS particular book!!!* *& #4*After nearly 40 long, hard arduous years of being & doing without, IT'S ABOUT TIME that's I'm FINALLY obtaining this book, albeit a used one!!!*

Caveat Emptor

Although sensitively written by one of her colleagues, this book was utter torture to read; the Prouty's have been plagued with horrendous misfortune, no words can adequately describe my regrets for Normy, Johnny, Patty, and Jimmie.P.S. To the reviewer from Paris: As an editor at the Reader's Digest for many years, Mrs. Prouty would have been flattered by your description of her as "one of the most influential women in publishing".
