So I saw this in an article somewhere and wanted to try it. I LOVE a good puzzle and it's geared toward adults? Sign me up! After reading it, I must say I would like to take my name back off the sign up list. This book was easily the most infuriating puzzle I've tried to date. The text seem to give no indication on what you're looking for. There is a clue index, but after reading the clues, you wonder how someone could have possibly got that.
For example, in the puzzle "serial murd3r" you're supposed to figure out what SLBF is that is on a lapel left at a crime scene. Now, could I just simply be an idiot and not know the 25 cent words that other people do? That is quite possible. But come on, what common person is gonna figure out that SLBF stands for Society of Lepidopterists and Butterfly Fanciers. Who is going to gather all that from a simple illustration and a barely there backstory to the puzzle?
Would I recommend this? Sure, if you're an extremely patient and inquisitive person unlike myself. If you're a normal person like me who was just trying to have fun? Absolutely not.
