One of Arkansas' top criminal attorneys, Bill McArthur lived a dream life: wealth, a fast-track career, a beautiful family, and influential friends in the highest circles of Little Rock society--until two men brutally murdered his wife. The investigation exposed a labyrinth of dark sexual passions and double-crosses--and an ambitious sheriff who vowed to put McArthur behind bars no matter what.
This is an exceptionally well written book. The author gets straight to the facts of the case. There are not tons of pages of biography on each and every indivdual. Neither is there drawn out trial proceedings that usually tend to weigh these books down and become somewhat boring. There are so many unanswered questions. Why Alice McArthur? What could she have known that was worth her being murdered? If anything. What about the slaying by ATF agents of Carl Wilson, a person in this book, who at one time, sold dynamite to some people later convicted of the murder? His death was done by the same person who who was in charge of the Waco, Texas slaughter. Seems to me that it has a lot to do with the "Good Ole Boys" in the local political scene. And what about sheriff Tommy Robinson? Why was he so determined to nail a lot of these people, especially the husband, William C. "Bill" McArthur? I sure makes one wonder. Fascinating book and fascinating aftershocks. Aunt Mimi
