Inspiring classroom teachers

Edgar McIntosh and Marilu Peck are two of the most innovative leaders in early childhood education. Their research-based practices, enthusiasm for teaching and love of children are evident in this multisensory approach for teaching reading, writing, and math. The multisensory approach that Edagr and Marilu co-developed helps teachers meet the needs of a variety of learners, and helps students connect to the content of instruction in meaningful ways. Their book has inspired OUR school's teachers to transform their classrooms, rethink their teaching strategies, and take risks with their management styles.Teachers have borrowed so many of their ideas, for example, one First Grade classroom now has a "Family Tree" and in a Kindergarten classroom students frequently role play problem-solving strategies through "Peace Plays." Teachers openly refer to this book as an educational bible-of-sorts! This book is a MUST HAVE for primary classrooms.

Good for parents too!

As a new parent, I felt this book was extremely helpful in understanding my child and how to help him learn. I highly reccomend this book to parents as well as teachers.
