Native American spirituality often masquerades as Christian. The author, born into a family of medicine men, exposes its dangerous occult techniques and concepts and offers hope through Jesus Christ. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The author covers a lot of ground in this brief but engaging book addressing "Christians who see no problem in combining the beliefs and techniques of Native American Spirituality with their view of Christianity." (quoting the author from her Introduction pg. xiii) In less than 75 pages, the author clearly and succinctly informs the reader as to the spiritual and sometimes physical dangers of Native American Spirituality, Neo-Pagan and other such practices and beliefs. Ample Scriptural support is provided throughout as well as helpful and easy to follow charts. The end notes provide the reader with a wealth of additional resources for research and edification. I found Chapter 3 to be most helpful as it covers a wide range of Neo-pagan elements in North Native American Spirituality. For those who study or are familiar with Neo-Pagan thought and occult practices, you will find this section to be helpful. Topics covered include: * Afterlife * Ancestral Spirits * Animal Spirits * Symbolic Child Sacrifices * Dreamcatchers * Medicine Bags * Necromancy (attempted contact with the dead via divination) * Sacred or Healing Circles * Vision Quests and much more While I disagree with the author in regard to whether or not specific objects themselves attract evil spirits, I do find this book to be well-written and researched. It is particularly helpful to know that the author herself came out of this form of false worship into the worship of the One True God, our Lord Jesus Christ.
