My daughter couldn't get enough of this book when she was a preschooler. The lyrical, nonsense language pulled her in. We used to chime the refrain "squooshy slooshy muddigush" whenever it rained! The illustrations are a charmer too, reminiscent of Eric Carle and Ezra Jack Keats. Let's hope this childhood celebration of mud-loving fun finds it way back into print soon!
