Jeannie Jordan, or "Ms. Jeannie" as she was known to generations of children, was a renowned cook. She catered every party, hers was the home to visit at holidays, and every meal was much more than just food. Her home was full of cookbooks containing hundreds of recipes, and hundreds more were created and existed only in her memory. This cookbook is a collection of Ms. Jeannie's private recipes - the ones that she wrote down and kept in filing boxes on a shelf in her kitchen, the ones she typed up on a manual typewriter when she first started cooking for her own family, the ones that she gave out to friends and loved ones who requested them, the ones that she clipped out of magazines and modified to make her own. The recipes are recorded here as she kept them. Some have missing instructions. Some have vague quantities, some are hard to read due to years of grease stains and fingerprints. She never really followed the recipes exactly anyway, so experiment and enjoy the results. This cookbook was created for the many people who have asked for copies of Ms. Jeannie's recipes. Any and all profits are being donated to the Sonshine Learning Center Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church in Southern Pines, NC in her name. The revised edition contains an additional 40 recipes and minor corrections.
