Foxleigh Hall, a Georgian country mansion in Berkshire, indian summer weather and an eclectic mix of guests is an idyllic setting for a celebration weekend, but someone has murder on their mind.

September 1890 - Mallory Wynter, her twin brother Ambrose and their friend Edward, have been invited to the Hall to celebrate a barrister's retirement. Edward's hopes of acquiring the practice is dependent on the success of the weekend, but murder and theft threaten that chance. It is up to Mallory and Ambrose to solve the murder, but what does a golden chain, a tree and art thief have in common? Surrounded by danger, Mallory and Ambrose will have to race against time otherwise an innocent man will become the scapegoat.
