Detective Chuck Stiley and his associate, Roger Jacks, are a bit miffed at being assigned to such a trivial case, a break-in at a funeral home. In spite of this, they become interested in the case. During the break-in a corpse, Mr. Unger, was disturbed: his gurney was moved, his cover sheet was tampered with, and someone wrote No. 7 on a toe tag. Also, he has an unusual smile on his face. The detectives are so curiuos that they attend his visitation that evening. The next day, however, they must move on as they have been assigned to a more serious case, the double homicide of Mr. an Mrs. Hassert. As it turns out, Mr. Hassert had been the business partner of the smiling Mr. Unger at the funeral home. Is there a connection between these deaths or is this merely a coincidence?
