When Mrs Goat leaves her kids to go shopping, she specifically warns them not to let in the hungry wolf--but the wolf overhears her. He pretends to be Mrs Goat returning, and asks to be let in. He gobbles up all but one--the littlest kid escapes and tells his mother what has happened when she returns. She roars in anger, and butts the wolf until all her kids have shot out of his mouth, and then she sends him right over the trees and away for ever.
This funny book from noted children's author and illustrator Tony Ross will delight members of the 5-7 year-old age groups. They will particularly enjoy the antics of the youngest of the kids, who is smart enough to take the wolf on and win. This is definitely a laugh-out-loud-book for the kid who enjoys slapstick. The illustrations are hilarious and the adult will find small touches of irony in them to enjoy also. Highly recommended.
