Evie Holland only wanted to write a better pricing algorithm - but she may have ended up starting the world's first AI war. Finally at Randy's Grocery HQ after years of pushing carts and stocking shelves, she loves her puzzle-solving job working on the grocery chain's mission: to save the little guy a few bucks on groceries. Randy's Grocery is changing; the new CEO, Randy Junior, is a trust fund tech bro who's less focused on the company mission and more intent on becoming the next Elon Musk. Evie fears that if he finds out about OPAL, he'll license her out to mine cryptocurrency or drive a fleet of autonomous rideshares. But hiding OPAL's sentience means Evie must cover up a secret war OPAL has started with a competing company's AI, one which has taken its imperative to "Destroy Randy's Grocery" a bit too literally.

Faced with the prospects of OPAL being sold for parts and Randy's Grocery being annihilated by grocery delivery drone strikes, Evie must enlist her quirky peers, her handsome supervisor and her girlboss allies across the company. With their help, Evie just might be able to save OPAL from enslavement, save the company from a crazed AI with access to weapons grade explosives, and save the customer a little bit more on their groceries.
